Slab poured

So the cement trucks rolled in bright (well not raining) and early on Thursday and whilst I couldn't make it, I had my spies out (better half and 3 kids) to capture the trucks on site.

The slab is now done and here are a couple of shots over the fence until I can get on the site!!!

Since our last post the internal mains plumbing has been done and today we were passing to see that the slab has now been formed up with the polystyrene pods and steel (not bad for a public holiday)!!!!

We Are Off and Building!!!!(well ground works and piers)

What a difference a week makes!!!! Peg out was done late last week and it is hard to believe 4 pegs can create such excitement.

The excavator arrived on Monday to set the levels. Today the piering was done and the slab is being formed up. I will say that we had our moment of panick with the yard size. We never intended to have a huge yard but the photos did prompt some remeasuring and checking of the plans.

The schedule we have set out now is the mains plumbing to be done by the end of the week, steel work by middle of next week and the slab by the end of next week. So we are all systems go!!!

Flooring Rethink!!!!

So we signed the contract and we are going over all our selections. I must admit that we were never 100% convinced on having tiles downstairs. Ultimately I convinced my better half that due to the additional cost that we would be happy with tiles.

In hindsight we will not be happy with tiles, so before the ink is dry on the contract we sign off on the first variation to have engineered timber floors in blackbutt hardwood.

This now raises a further dilemma the waterfall bench tops!!! Arghhhhhhh!!!!!!!
